Start with the deliverable, not the showreel
Crew structure matters more than individual skill
A videographer who takes the brief at face value and confirms the booking without asking any of these questions is going to produce what you asked for. If the brief was incomplete - and most first-draft event briefs are - the footage will reflect that.
Delivery timeline is a production decision, not a scheduling one
When you're specifying the delivery timeline, be specific about why you need it. "As soon as possible" and "by 5pm on the day" are different briefs. One allows the production company to structure the workflow around quality. The other requires a specific production infrastructure. Both are achievable. Neither is the default.
